Lee & Freyja enjoy the tranquil gardens

Cameron & Caroline McAllister’s wedding

‘For over 20 years I have ran and represented Geelong around the world with distance running. As a young boy, I was always fascinated with the white prefabricated iron villa that was perched up on a hill that over looked Eastern Beach. I was in “awe” of the quality and tranquil settings of the home from the outside looking in and always envious/curious to what the view would be like from the inside looking out.

Over many years I got to understand the history of the villa, as I would run past it and around the bay daily. With the home, garden and views, it is in my opinion, the best home in Geelong.

I got married this year and as my wife is from Tasmania, we decided we wanted a wedding with all the best Geelong had to offer. My wife knew my fondness for Corio Villa and what it typified and represented and we decided to have our wedding service there.

I had heard many years earlier, an old Mr McAllister used to allow photos in the grounds provided they paid a small fee to a charity. Knowing that they used to do photo’s, I thought I would take the chance and ask if they would consider a wedding.

Much to our delight, they accepted and March 13th this year we had the most splendid of occasions. With 135 close family and friends we were married in the grounds of Corio Villa. With the lovely home, beautiful gardens, spectacular views of the bay and a bright sunny day, we could not have asked for a better venue to make our day so special.

With everything that Geelong has to offer and a great backdrop for photos, Corio Villa has it all. Our wedding service was a dream come true and our photo album only reiterates that for us. The villa has much more significance for me as I run past it now.’

‘Cameron & Caroline McAllister’s wedding photo’s have special significance as Corio Villa has been in the McAllister Family for 3 generations.

The delicate yet formal filigree patterns of the veranda posts and porch supports make a perfect backdrop for creating photographic memories of the new bride and groom.’

Our wedding was about the detail. Not fussy or prissy type of detail - but the vision for how we could treat ourselves, and our guests, the most memorable day possible.

Our experience at Corio Villa Estate was exactly that. I couldn't think of a more stunning and remarkably elegant setting to spend the most special day of our lives.

The unequalled views of the Bay, the pristine garden, and the ambience created by a private home so steeped in history.

Most of all it was the hospitality shown to us and amazing care taken to ensure everything was just as it should be - this  was exactly the detail that made our wedding day so uniquely ours!’
